A New Electronic House and Senate

Watching the ugliest demonstration of Democracy in progress I've ever seen these past few days got me wishing for a more logical way of running our government.
Then I read in Wired, the story of a new robot that must might be a perfect replacement for our current members of congress. It  can make decisions for itself and actually learn...

"....this robot will be able to communicate with other robots to get help on how to complete a task."

That sounds like an improvement over the foolishness we saw trying to decide whether to let the country default.
Then again, haven't we seen enough robot movies to know they always turn on their makers?

(no, that's not the robot in the Wired story above, but the robo-cobra is a great metaphor for the twin dangers of robots among us and Congress.
